The ideal candidate is an exceptionally organized, methodical professional with the experience  necessary to contribute to the development and quality assurance activities of our products.  

Responsibilities:  

  • Work closely with the development team to test software solutions and provide feedback  on the software features, documenting issues and ensuring effective resolution. 
  • Execute software testing plans and develop automated tests 
  • Assist in identifying, defining and documenting development requirements 
  • Participate in functionality/feature design reviews 
  • Other duties as required

Additional Requirements:

Due to the nature of our work, all work is done in Halifax and this is not a remote role.

 

The software development team is responsible for development of Xplorer application software and supporting development systems for builds and deployment. This role requires a curious and inquisitive person who shows initiative and seeks opportunities to continuously expand their area of understanding and improve their skillset.

To qualify you will need to have the following skills and attributes:

  • Live in Halifax Nova Scotia or are willing to relocate to work on site
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent training / experience
  • 3+ years relevant professional experience
  • Solid coding skills in an object-oriented language, C#
  • You’ve done professional or hobbyist work using 3D game engines
  • Passion for learning new technologies
  • Solid debugging and problem-solving abilities
  • A strong drive, work ethic and attention to detail are essential
  • Solid understanding of Git version control
  • You work well in a team and feel comfortable doing some individual heavy lifting
  • You take pride in the work that you do

Additional relevant experience:

  • Experience with Unity game development
  • 3D mathematics and trigonometry skills
  • Quality assurance and application testing experience
  • Experience working with REST APIs and WebSockets
  • WebGL development experience
  • Native development and debugging experience

Responsibilities:

  • Create effective and creative interactive training software
  • Develop robust 3D training applications using Unity, C# and VR / AR toolkits as required
  • Consistently write quality code according to specifications and best practices
  • Identity and resolve bugs efficiently
  • Assist in identifying, defining and documenting development requirements and specifications
  • Assist in quality assurance activities
  • Research emerging application development software applications, products, languages and standards in support of development efforts
  • Other duties as may be required

We are seeking a creative and technically skilled 3D Training Lesson Creator to join our team. You will be responsible for developing engaging, interactive, and high-quality training content that leverages 3D models and environments to educate our users/employees on complex technical procedures, product features, or theoretical concepts.

You will collaborate closely with our software development team, translating complex client requirements into engaging, high-fidelity 3D Lessons using our platform. Your work will directly impact the success of global companies.

Responsibilities: 

Instructional Design: Design, structure, and storyboard comprehensive training modules, lessons, and assessments optimized for 3D/virtual environments.

Interactivity Development: Implement interactive elements, and decision-tree logic within the 3D lessons to ensure an active learning experience.

Collaboration: Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Instructional Designers, and Product Managers to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with learning objectives.

Lesson Testing: Conduct rigorous testing and iteration on all 3D lessons to optimize performance, user experience, and educational effectiveness.

Documentation: Create supporting documentation, guides, and instructor materials for the 3D lessons.

  • Create highly interactive training scenarios for multiple platforms using the company’s software.
  • Design, edit and review Lesson content to maximize user engagement and learning retention.
  • Collaborate with a team to innovate and continuously improve content.
  • Work closely with the development team to test software solutions and provide feedback on software features, documenting issues and ensuring effective resolution.

To be an ideal candidate, you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Having a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a plus
  • Experience designing highly interactive content for gaming or education in a technical software environment.
  • Ability to optimize production by developing reusable solutions. 
  • Logical and organized approach to task completion. 
  • Strong communication and research skills.
  • You work well in a team, doing some individual heavy lifting and collaborating with colleagues on common team goals.
  • A passion for improving product quality and noticing the tiniest of defects
